Mitchell Noyes – Senior Client Manager
Brief details of your education and what you achieved.
I enjoyed maths at school so chose Accountancy, IT and Business as my A-level subjects at college.
How did you hear about TWP?
I enjoyed the accountancy element of my studies, so I investigated suitable roles as a college leaver. After getting in touch with TWP, I was fortunate enough to be offered a trainee position with the firm.
What was your training experience like with TWP?
The team at TWP is very supportive and has a great training package that gives sufficient time to study and ensures a good work-life balance is maintained. I have achieved AAT levels 3 and 4 and am now a member of MAAT.
I then moved on to the ACCA qualification and I am now a Chartered Accountant. There are many benefits to joining as a trainee after college and without the need to go to university. The study does take a few years, but I gained on-the-job experience whilst being paid, which was very advantageous!
What do you like about your role?
I am responsible for a varied portfolio of business clients, and I enjoy building long-term relationships and seeing their businesses flourish. My workload is very varied which I particularly enjoy.
Each year I help with our trainee programme. As part of that process, I talk to students at local schools and colleges about the opportunities a career in accounting can offer. I get involved with training new team members in my department, which I find very rewarding. It’s great to see them progress through the various levels at the firm.
Tell us more about working at TWP?
It’s an excellent working environment and very nurturing with team members there to provide support when you are unsure. I found this a great help when I was starting out. The firm offers flexible working, and this is helpful when trying to achieve the right work/life balance.
I help to organise our team social events and these take place on a regular basis. They provide the perfect opportunity to meet new colleagues and catch up with team members in a social environment.
What career aspirations do you have?
I find it a great motivator that two of our current Partners started as trainees with the firm and I am keen to follow in their footsteps.
I am studying for my CTA qualification, which will allow me to provide further knowledge and advice to the clients I support.
