Junior squash players from across the UK descended on St George’s Hill Lawn Tennis Club in Weybridge for the Surrey Junior Open, sponsored by TWP Accounting.
Over 140 players from all over the country competed in the prestigious event, with Georgie Ingham, 15, among those flying the flag for the host club, winning the Girls Under-17 title, while Charlie Lee, 11, took the Boys Under-13 title.
Other notable competitors included the British number one at under-15 level, Richie Fallows, 14, who won the Boys Under-17 category and Shah Jahan Khan, 14, from Pakistan, and son of former World number 7 Zarak Jahan Khan, who reached the semi-finals in the same age group.
Ross Norman from New Zealand, who was World Champion in 1986, presented the prizes along with Mike Dawes, a partner at TWP.
TWP also sponsor the St George’s Hill first team that currently leads the Southern Division of the Premier Squash League.
Mike Dawes said: “We have very much enjoyed our involvement with St George’s Hill over the last two years, and we were also very proud to sponsor this event and support the young squash stars of the future.
“It was a closely-fought contest with some excellent skills on display, and our congratulations go to everyone who took part.”
