TWP St George’s Hill squash team is celebrating after reaching the final of the world’s most prestigious squash league.
The team will come face-to-face with defending champions Surrey Health and Racquets in what will be an all-Surrey Premier Squash League (PSL) final on May 3.
TWP St George’s Hill, which is sponsored by Weybridge-based chartered accountancy firm TWP, saw off fierce competition on home turf from 2009 champions LEBC Group Chapel Allerton.
The 3-2 victory came when TWP St George’s Hill’s Daryl Selby, who is also an England international and world number 12, beat Australian Aaron Frankcomb in the dramatic deciding match.
TWP St George’s Hill is the only team unbeaten in all but one of its ties so far this season. Last year, the team reached the semi-finals, losing to Esporta Oxford.
Philip Munk, managing partner at TWP, said: “To secure a place in the national final is fantastic news. I am delighted that the team’s hard work this season has paid off and wish them all the best on May 3.”
