TWP has appointed a globally recognised authority on marketing and business strategy as its new non-executive chairman.
Gordon Gilchrist, who is marketing director of the 2020 Group, a leading membership organisation for accountants and tax advisers, will provide strategic advice to TWP’s partners and management team on an ongoing basis.
A renowned speaker, Gordon is a trained accountant who has worked with three of the Big Four firms, 75 per cent of the UK’s Top 20 firms and more than 2,000 independent practices. He is also a published author, having co-written a book, ‘SME Consulting’.
Commenting on his new role, Gordon said: “TWP’s managing partner, Philip Munk, and I have known each other for a number of years as he is a member of one of my managing partners’ focus groups. He approached me to ask if I wanted to become the firm’s non-executive chairman and I was only too happy to accept his offer.
“In my role, I will be discussing with the partners where they see TWP at the moment and where they would like the firm to be in the future. However, rather than simply telling them what they need to do, my job is to provide the guidance they need to make their own decisions.
“I am very much looking forward to getting involved with TWP. It is always very exciting working with forward-thinking people like Philip and his team.”
Philip Munk said: “I am delighted to welcome Gordon as our non-executive chairman. With his considerable experience of the accountancy sector, he is ideally placed to help take TWP forward as we look to continue growing the business.”
