TWP Accounting hits 10 million step goal to raise thousands for White Lodge

A group of accountants from one of Surrey’s leading independent accountancy firms, TWP, have covered 10 million steps to raise more than £2,500 for White Lodge.

At the start of August, members of the team at TWP, which has offices in Weybridge and Cranleigh, set themselves the challenge of covering 10 million steps for charity by running, walking, playing tennis and a variety of other activities.

After working hard to meet the challenge alongside their day to day work, the team managed to achieve over 10,750,000 steps – approximate to around 5,000 miles –and have beaten their original fundraising total of £2,000 to raise more than £2,500 for White Lodge.

The firm got lots of support from friends, family, clients and the local community who rallied behind the firm as it raised funding and awareness for the disability organisation.

A long-time charity partner of TWP, White Lodge helps the most vulnerable disabled children, adults and their families.

It has been working extremely hard in recent months to help people struggling with the impact of COVID-19 by offering respite care, specialist nursery services, holiday clubs and remote support, all the while facing new challenges with fundraising and social distancing regulations.

Paul Hawksley, Managing Partner at TWP Accounting, said: “Our team really went all out to meet this difficult challenge during the last month. We have worked with White Lodge for a number of years and have seen the difference their services make, especially during these tough times, which gave us the inspirational impetus we needed to achieve our goal.

“We are so glad that we have managed to raise so much money for this wonderful cause, which we hope will go some way to helping them as they support others. We can’t thank those people who supported us enough.”

The team at TWP Accounting have been amazed by the kind response they received from people across the region, who were thankful for the support the charity provides.

Jane Cartwright, Community Fundraiser at White Lodge, said: “TWP have achieved an amazing feat in completing this incredible challenge and we cannot thank them enough for the hard work and effort they have put in.

“White Lodge is a real lifeline, giving families respite and ensuring that children, with a variety of physical and learning difficulties, get the most out of the social and engaging activities that we provide in this safe space. TWP has done a fantastic job, not only raising money but also greater awareness about the work that we do.”

Although the firm has successfully completed the challenge, they are still calling on the public to support this cause by making donations to their challenge fund.
