TWP Congratulates Charity Cyclist
Surrey accountants, TWP, are congratulating a client, who has so far raised more than £600 by cycling from London to Paris.
Daniel Smith, director of Daheim UK Ltd, completed the 340-mile journey over four days, and hopes his efforts will raise £1,500 in total for Action Medical Research, an independent charity specialising in children’s health.
As Daheim UK are a long-standing client, and as the money was going to such a noble cause, TWP was only too happy to sponsor Daniel’s adventure.
Daniel said: “Total mileage - 340 miles, punctures - 4, carb gel bars - 15, satisfaction - 10/10.
“We all had a hard start to the journey with a blustery 100 miles into Dover. With just five hours sleep we were up again with an intended 95 miles from Dieppe to our second destination in France. However some of our directional markers had been removed so I clocked up about 105 miles this day. Others got more lost.
“Day three was a little more forgiving, but aches were setting in. Another plate of pasta and more carb gels were called for to get the momentum up again.
“The last day into Paris was fantastic with a bright 6.30am start and rolling roads into the capital. I’d like to thank everyone for their kind donations; their generosity is very much appreciated.”
Philip Munk, TWP’s managing partner, said: “We were all impressed when we heard what Daniel planned to do, and we are thrilled that he has managed to complete his challenge. We are glad that we have been able to contribute to his impressive fundraising total. Well done Daniel.” |
