James Innes first encountered TWP when one
of his business partners recommended them. James
began to use their services for his business
Convex Capital. Around a year later James
re-employed their services – for his
second company!
Convex Capital provides independent corporate
financial advice to a range of companies. Although
the firm does not place emphasis on the size
of a company, preferring instead to develop
long term relationships with clients, they
have had experience of offering objective advice
to multi-national corporations.
Being based in London, James Innes understands
the financial pressures of the city. That’s
why he was looking for an accountancy firm
stationed outside of London, although it was
important that he did not compromise on quality. He
therefore valued the personal recommendation
he received from one of TWP’s existing
clients.
TWP looks after the accounts and tax computations
for Convex Capital, and also takes care of
employee P11D forms. James’ personal
tax is also dealt with by the firm.
Some months after employing the services of
TWP, a business opportunity arose for James. He
was approached and asked to act as MD for a
new company, Access Bridging Finance. The
firm is an independent finance house that provides
short-term mortgages for individuals or companies
looking to invest in UK property.
When an end of year audit was required for
James’ new business venture, his prior
knowledge of Philip Munk and TWP’s services
encouraged him to look no further than his
existing accountancy firm. TWP are now
also responsible for the tax computations of
Access Bridging Finance, and the organisation
and outsourcing of a bookkeeper for the firm.
James has regular contact with the firm, and
often introduces his own new clients to the
firm. “I often try to put work
their way,” he comments. “They
are better value for money than London accountants
and very efficient. When the Access Bridging
Finances accounts were due, TWP got them done
and filed within a month, which I found impressive. They’re
cost-effective and they do a good job.”
